Do you have rental car coverage?

Most people do not know.  This may be worth a quick call to your insurance agent. 

Body shops are busier now than ever before and why?

1.      Technician Shortages

2.      Car values have gone up since Covid. A vehicle that used to be totaled out is now being fixed.

3.      Parts issues – backorders

4.      Shops cannot order parts and sit on them for months. They do not have the room nor the funds to pay for them. There are also restocking fees if the customer cancels.

5.      It is vacation season

6.      Drivers driving carelessly using cell phones

I have never seen a backlog of work like this before.

Rental car coverages

1.       Rental car coverage is only $1 - $2 a month to have on your policy. 

2.      Claimant vs. Insured makes a difference.

a.      Insured generally only have coverage up to 30 days

b.      Claimant can have rental car coverage longer. 

3.      Some insurance companies will pay $30 a day, up to $900, and some will do 60 or 90 days.
